The Proposal

Keeping this secret was no easy task, Mili is very curious and has sixth sense when it comes to surprises. Buying the ring was no easy task, "What ring size is she? How many diamonds to buy? White gold or yellow gold?" all crossed my mind. After talking to the jeweler, we came up with the design, it took him a month of crafting and ensuring the ring was nothing short of perfection.

Once I had the ring in my possession, I had to schedule a time to ask Mili's parents for their blessing. Susy and Fernando have always been extremely welcoming and kind, however, this was a serious conversation, and I wanted to make them proud, that men today still ask for their daughters hand. Of course Mili was tracking me on her phone and asked why I was her parents house . . . I  said her dad needed help moving something.

After dropping off flowers to Susy and getting both parent's blessing, it was time to plan. I knew I wanted to get a photographer, but how can I not make it obvious that something big was happening. Well, if the idea was to not act like something big was going to happen, than why not act for something big that already happened - my graduation! Earlier in 2025, I had graduated with my Masters, but I had not taken my graduation photos to celebrate the moment. 

This was the plan, ask Mili to take photos with me since she was a major part of my success. She take this task with such dedication! She got her nails done, her hair done, did her make-up, bought a new dress and was ready! The photographer did a phenomenal job pretending this was a graduation photoshoot, but he was in on the secret. He positioned us perfectly. I was able to get on one knee and as soon Mili turned around - she was in complete shock that all this was curated for her!

Asking Mili to marry me was the easiest decision I have made, planning all this was the hardest but the most rewarding accomplishment.
